The Gantry Girders that are positioned at the top of the crane runway are used by the Single Girder EOT Cranes. The pendent station can be configured to move independently of the hoist movement based on the preferences of the customer. The wire rope hoist’s rope drum is composed of seamless tubing. The wire rope is sufficiently protected by the machined grooves on the rope drum. The cast iron rope band and guide cause wire rope to jump out of tracks. A motor connected to an oil-lubricated spur/helical gearbox powers the rope drum as part of the hoisting drive system.
An electrical fail-safe brake prevents the load from being inadvertently decreased in the event of a power failure. In order to keep the hook block from being lifted too high, a limit switch is installed. To keep the hook block from being lowered too much, a second limit switch can be added. Wheel assistance on the beam/box flange produces the cross movement of the hoist. Wheel drive is provided by an electric motor-gearbox unit. As an extra bonus, the buyer requested a limit switch and a fail-safe brake. The wire rope hoist is powered by the Festoon cable system. Depending on the customer’s request, the flexible cables ride on either taught wire or enclosed C track, which are supported by cable hangers or cable trolleys. The main applications for single girder cranes are spans of up to 25 meters and capacities of up to 20 MT. Light and medium workshop tasks are the primary application for these. However, catch buckets and hot metal ladles are also handled by single-girder cranes.
